physical therapy
Cactus Sport & Spine provides one-on-one Physical Therapy with a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. Each appointment is approximately 45 minutes, depending on your needs for treatment. The session may include manual therapy (soft tissue and joint mobilization), trigger point dry needling (TDN), body mechanic evaluation and education with exercise/activities related to help gain strength and motion specific to each individual to achieve maximum function. Traction and Modalities may be used as appropriate which include moist heat, cold packs/ice massage, ultrasound, and electric modalities (TENS, Electric Stimulation, Interferential, Hi-volt, and Iontophosis).
Each person will receive a specific home exercise program designed by the therapist specifically for the patient to ensure long term results are achieved. The combination of education and exercise assist in achieving results for the future. The key to success is helping you understand the problem so you are active in the process and have an understanding of what needs to be done to avoid chronic conditions or repetitive injuries.
On top of our excellent physical therapy care, we are also committed to the wellness for all individuals. All of our therapy sessions include long term discussion and demonstration for a person to have knowledge and motivation to continue with an active lifestyle.
Conditioning education is available with our treatments for a variety of sport specific training. Please contact our office if you have any request for specific training needs, or would like to discuss other wellness options.
trigger point dry needling
Trigger point dry needling (TDN) has been shown to be a valuable treatment for musculoskeletal pain. TDN involves placing a small microfilament needle into the muscle at the trigger point in order to cause the muscle to contract and then release, improving flexibility of the muscle and therefore decreasing the symptoms. Our therapist are certified and have been practicing for years. There is minimal risk associated with the treatment and is utilized within a treatment session with a one-time $10 fee.
Massage
Massage Therapy is the manipulation of soft tissue which has great health benefits that can help relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation as well as relieving stress. All massage services use a variety of different techniques as needed. We offer deep tissue, sports massage, cranial sacral, Swedish, prenatal, oncology, reflexology and lymphatic drainage.
Massage therapy is provided in 30 minute, 60 minute or 90 minute intervals. Please contact Wendy Connolly regarding pricing and availability.
